Dr. Anik Bhaduri

Biography

Anik Bhaduri is an environmental resource economist with over twenty years of experience in research specializing in environmental assessments, natural resource allocation, and evaluating adaptation strategies for climate change. He is the Director of Future Earth's Sustainable Water Future Programme and serves as a co-chair of the Future Earth-Asia Regional Committee. Bhaduri is also a member of the Future Earth Coast Academy and an adjunct professor at the Australian River Institute at Griffith University, Australia, and the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the Australian National University. He played a significant role as a science strategist in co-designing a joint initiative with UNESCO, titled 'Science SDG6: Science to Accelerate Implementation of SDG6,' which emphasizes the crucial role that 21st-century science plays in bridging gaps in SDG6 monitoring, assessment, and implementation. Furthermore, he has contributed to a knowledge synthesis exercise involving world-leading water experts to identify appropriate scientific tools and models to address key water climate policy gaps. Anik has also served as a senior expert consultant for UNESCO to help prepare standardized guidelines for national water assessment and had a prior secondment with the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations in Rome.
