Dr. Anika Singh Lemar

Biography

Anika Singh Lemar is a Clinical Professor at Yale Law School, specializing in law with a focus on community economic development and housing law. She began her legal career as a law clerk for Hon. Janet C. Hall in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut. Following her clerkship, she worked as a staff attorney at the Community Development Project at the Urban Justice Center, where she was involved in various projects aimed at improving affordable housing and advocating for community development. Anika graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts and from New York University School of Law with a Juris Doctor, where she was recognized as a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar and Dean’s Scholar. She has been awarded the Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans. Anika’s teaching and research interests focus on the intersection of law and housing, providing legal support through Yale’s Housing Clinic, which aims to construct affordable housing and address issues of segregation and zoning regulations in Connecticut.
