Biography

Anil Gandhi joined Monash University in August 2009 as a Clinical Associate Professor in Surgery. He graduated from Christian Medical College in India in 1980, obtaining a Master of Surgery from the renowned Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research in Chandigarh, India. Following his post-graduation, he worked in hospitals across India and Southeast Asia, including Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. He specializes in Endoscopy, Laparoscopy, and Upper GI Surgery. Over the years, Dr. Gandhi has developed a keen interest in Medical Education. Before joining Monash University, he worked at Queen Mary Hospital, University of Hong Kong, where he served as Deputy Director at the Centre for Education & Training in the Department of Surgery. He has worked extensively in the field of clinical and surgical skills labs and has been a vital contributor to setting up skills centers. His current plans involve developing a skills center online, in addition to his clinical interest in Endoscopy and Upper GI Surgery.
