Anil started his lectureship at the University of Southampton in July 2021. Before this, he was a Senior Research Associate (2020-2021) and Research Associate (2017-2020) at the University of Cambridge, where he worked on vehicle energy efficiency and autonomous reversing control systems, serving as the Principal Investigator for a Transport Research Innovation Grant from the UK Department for Transport. Prior to moving to the UK, he worked as a Junior Scientist at the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) (2015-2017), focusing on vehicle dynamics control, vehicle state estimation, and autonomous driving projects. His early career included positions at ST Microelectronics and the Indian Institute of Science. Anil holds a PhD (2016) and MSc Cum Laude in Systems Control (2011) from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. His PhD and MSc theses involved lateral vehicle dynamics control and state estimation, utilizing a state-dependent Riccati equation based integrated vehicle dynamics control approach. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Allahabad, India in 2006.
