Dr. Anindya Sen

Biography

Anindya Sen is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Waterloo. His extensive academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University, a Master of Arts from Concordia University, and a PhD from the University of Toronto. Anindya's research focuses primarily on the effects of government intervention in markets, with a keen interest in how various policies influence market efficiency and overall societal welfare. His work encompasses several areas including pricing strategies in imperfectly competitive markets, deregulation in retail markets, and the socio-economic impacts of minimum wage policies. He has published extensively on empirical impacts of a variety of policies, including impaired driving laws, mandatory seatbelt legislation, and cigarette taxes.
