Dr. Anirudh Subramanyam

Biography

Anirudh Subramanyam is an Early Career Assistant Professor at Penn State University in the Harold Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering. He earned his B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2013 and completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in 2018. His research focuses on Operations Research, particularly in optimization under uncertainty, robust stochastic optimization, and high-performance computing. Anirudh has contributed to numerous publications in prestigious journals, including works on vehicle routing problems, power systems optimization, and reliability in logistical frameworks. He is involved in several research projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Argonne National Laboratory, aiming to innovate algorithms for stochastic optimization. Anirudh has received accolades for his research contributions, including the Howard Rosenbrock Prize in Optimization Engineering in 2023 and an honorable mention for his dissertation prize in Transportation Science. His academic efforts support the advancement of engineering education and research, aligning with the storied tradition of excellence at Penn State.
