Biography

Anisoara Calinescu joined the University of Oxford in September 2002 in the Department of Computer Science. She previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Oxford Manufacturing Research Group within the Engineering Science Department, starting in April 1996 and continuing until August 2002. An official fellow with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Reuben College, she is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for New Economic Thinking. In October 2021, she became a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute in London. Her research interests include complex networked systems, complexity metrics, agent-based modeling, control, prediction in complex systems, financial markets, supply chains, and digital twins. Through her work, she aims to advance the understanding and application of AI and Machine Learning across various fields and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for real-world problems.
