Dr. Anita Grigoriadis

Biography

Anita Grigoriadis is a Professor in Molecular Digital Pathology at King's College London in the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences. She is an Executive Committee Member and Training Lead at the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre, co-leading the Spatial Biology Facility. Her research focuses on cancer bioinformatics and digital pathology, with a special emphasis on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications to analyze complex data. The research primarily involves large-scale data derived from digitized whole slide images and spatial transcriptomics to better understand the molecular and morphological determinants affecting treatment responses in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. Under her leadership, her research group has built a databank of digitized whole slide images from normal breast tissues, significantly enhancing the scope for early cancer detection. Professor Grigoriadis' efforts extend to establishing partnerships to create AI models capable of improving health outcomes, while ensuring ethical standards in the deployment of these technologies. Her team is actively engaged in improving computational techniques for cancer diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment.
