Dr. Anita Mohan

Biography

Anita Mohan is a board-certified plastic reconstructive surgeon providing care at the Stanford Health Care Plastic Reconstructive Surgery Clinic. She serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Mohan completed her core surgical training and plastic surgery training at major teaching hospitals in London and Cambridge, UK, followed by a clinical fellowship in pediatric burns, plastic surgery, and hand surgery at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She underwent residency at Mayo Clinic and advanced fellowship training in microsurgery at Stanford. Her clinical focus includes a wide range of surgeries, with particular expertise in complex reconstructive surgeries, cosmetic procedures, and microsurgery. Dr. Mohan's research interests encompass lymphedema, lipedema, gender-affirming top surgeries, and body contouring for patients who have experienced massive weight loss, with a strong emphasis on the use of innovative microsurgical techniques. She has published her work in various peer-reviewed journals and has been involved in significant professional organizations in her field, contributing as a reviewer and editor. Dr. Mohan actively presents her research at both national and international meetings.
