Biography

Anja Mohr has been a Professor of 'Fine Arts and Their Didactics' and the head of the Institute for Art Education at Ludwig Maximilians University Munich since October 2012. Her work lies at the intersection of art education and computer science. Her research focuses on the integration of new media into educational processes, particularly in the development and evaluation of software and hardware from child-centric and aesthetic perspectives. A key aspect of her research is the participation of children in the evaluation of software and hardware, alongside the application of qualitative and quantitative research methods. From 2010 to 2013, she led the DFG research project 'Art Education and Computer Visualization in the Research Network: The Development and Evaluation of Software from a Child's Perspective.' In her artistic practice, Anja Mohr navigates the realms of experimental and digital photography. She is also the educational director and national jury chair of the international youth competition 'jugend creativ' organized by cooperative banks. Furthermore, she has been a board member of 'euward,' the European Art Prize for painting and graphics by artists with intellectual disabilities, in 2014 and 2017.
