Biography

Anjan Bhowmick joined the Department of Building, Civil and Environmental Engineering at Concordia University in 2011, and he has since contributed significantly to the field of civil engineering, specifically in structural engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil (Structural) Engineering from the University of Alberta and has two other degrees in civil engineering from the University of Windsor and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. His research interests primarily focus on seismic design analysis of steel-reinforced concrete structures, seismic retrofit and rehabilitation of existing structures, and bridge engineering. Bhowmick has authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has extensive practical experience in designing buildings and bridges. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta and is affiliated with professional organizations such as the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering, the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
