Professor Anjan Thakurta is a leading researcher in the field of translational medicine with a focus on Multiple Myeloma. He is the Director of the translational program at the Oxford Translational Myeloma Centre (OTMC), where he advances personalized care and aims to cure the disease. He played a significant role in the Myeloma Genome Project, establishing a comprehensive landscape of newly diagnosed and relapsed refractory Myeloma genomes. Professor Thakurta obtained his MSc from Jawaharlal Nehru University, an MTech from IIT Delhi, and holds a PhD in genetics from Cambridge University. He completed his postdoctoral research at Harvard and the National Cancer Institute in the USA, and is a fellow at Reuben College, Oxford.
