Dr. Anjana Susarla

Biography

Anjana Susarla is the Omura-Saxena Professor of Responsible Artificial Intelligence at Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Austin and has previously earned her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, as well as a Master's in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Her research interests focus primarily on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, analytics, and the economics of AI. Susarla's academic work has been published in numerous prestigious journals and she has presented at several high-profile conferences including the Academy of Management Conference and the International Conference on Information Systems. A thought leader in her field, she frequently contributes to discussions on AI and algorithmic bias in both academic and public forums, advising on topics related to digital transformation. Susarla has received several accolades, including the William S. Livingston Award for Outstanding Graduate Students and recognition as a finalist for the Academy of Management's Steven Schrader Paper Award.
