Dr. Anju Philip

Biography

Anju Philip is an Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream at the University of Waterloo, specializing in Psychology. Her research focuses on Organizational Behaviour and Leadership, with particular attention to work-life balance, social networks, and the experiences of racialized employees. Currently, her research is centered on understanding the work-life experiences of professionally employed racialized women, with a special focus on South Asian women. With a decade of academic and industrial work experience, Anju is a steadfast advocate for lifelong learning. Her primary career goal is to be an effective educator, teaching future professionals to ask questions and find solutions while fostering an environment where kind and compassionate individuals can thrive in the workforce. She is interested in examining the impact of instructor kindness on overall course learning satisfaction. Anju is cross-appointed in the Arts Business Program (ARBUS) and currently teaches courses including Practical Business Skills and Strategy & Program Integration in the Arts Business program, as well as Applied Topics in Psychology in the Psychology Department. Her teaching experience encompasses a variety of courses in Organizational Behaviour and Business, including Human Resource Management, Foundations of Leadership, International Business, and Business Report Writing.
