Dr. Ankit Sarin

Biography

Dr. Ankit Sarin is an Associate Professor at the Department of Surgery at UC Davis Health. He serves as the Vice Chair for Robotics and New Technologies and is the Chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery. His clinical interests focus on colorectal surgery, particularly for patients dealing with colon rectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Sarin's expertise also encompasses the management of benign anorectal diseases and complex pelvic surgeries. He has a special interest in robotic colorectal surgery and is actively researching the application of minimally invasive techniques to enhance perioperative care. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Kasturba Medical College and a Master of Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Sarin has completed extensive training in general surgery and surgical oncology at renowned institutions, further specializing in colorectal surgery during his fellowship. He is recognized for his work with enhanced recovery protocols and reducing opioid use in systemic workflows, thereby improving patient outcomes.
