Biography

Ankush Aggarwal is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering and a member of the Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre (GCEC) at the University of Glasgow. His research primarily focuses on computational biomechanics and its applications in cardiovascular healthcare. He began his college education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, studying Aerospace Engineering, before moving to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Applied Mathematics. Following this, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Cardiovascular Simulation at the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the University of Glasgow, he was a National Research Network Fellow at the Zienkiewicz Centre for Computational Engineering (ZCCE), Swansea University. Dr. Aggarwal's research interests include modeling vascular mechanics, understanding the mechanical properties of biological structures, and improving methodologies related to cardiovascular diagnostics. His work has been recognized in various publications focused on arterial biomechanics and tissue engineering. He is currently supervising several PhD students and is keen on collaborating with motivated individuals interested in computational cardiovascular mechanics.
