Dr. Anming Hu

Biography

Anming Hu is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Waterloo (2008) and has additional doctoral qualifications from the Institute of Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (1997). With a solid foundation in nanotechnology, his research interests focus on nanofabrication techniques, including hydrothermal growth and femtosecond laser irradiation. He is also involved in the development of nanomaterial-based flexible electronics and solid-state dye-sensitized solar cells, alongside exploring innovative methods for water treatment. In addition, he specializes in multiscale simulation methods, particularly in nanoplasmonics, employing techniques such as 3D finite element modeling and molecular dynamics. His work has resulted in several notable publications that contribute significantly to the field of applied physics and engineering.
