Dr. Ann Smith

Biography

Ann has been managing, educating, and consulting in the Australia-Pacific region for over four decades, with extensive experience in both the private and public community sectors. Since 2017, she has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate MBA classes at the Research School of Management at the Australian National University, primarily focusing on Evidence-based Management and project management information systems. Her work is heavily grounded in industry experience, with two decades of consulting using evidence-based practices for strategic project management, business analysis, and human resource strategy. Notable clients include AXA, the Department of Family & Community Services, the Department of Health & Aged Care, and NSW TAFE. Ann holds Master’s degrees focusing on Information Systems, Project Management, and a recently completed Master of Philosophy that utilized qualitative methods to analyze drivers of project managers' compliance behaviors. She has contributed to industry forums, conferences, and publications throughout her career, and is a senior member of the Australian Computer Society and a fellow of the Centre for Evidence-based Management.
