Biography

Anna Devor is a tenured Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Boston University, having joined in July 2019. She also serves as the Associate Director of the BU Neurophotonics Center. Devor has an extensive background in cellular systems-level neuroscience, particularly in neurovascular coupling and the regulation of cerebral blood flow. Her work employs novel optical imaging methods and combines these with computational modeling to tackle complex questions in the field. Throughout her career, she has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications, which have been cited more than 7,800 times, resulting in an H Index of 39 and an i10 Index of 79. Devor is a sought-after educator, having participated in various summer schools and short courses internationally, covering topics such as neuroimaging and microscopy. She has also received multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine. In addition to her academic endeavors, Devor has trained numerous graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, many of whom have secured prestigious fellowships. She has also been involved in pre-college education during the COVID-19 pandemic, illustrating her commitment to outreach and education. Devor is currently the Editor-in-Chief for the Neurophotonics journal, published by SPIE, and is an active member of various organizing committees for conferences in her field.
