Biography

Anna Corrigal Flaminio is an Associate Professor in Criminology at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is a community-engaged scholar and lawyer with over 25 years of experience working alongside Indigenous peoples in law, social justice, and social work. Corrigal Flaminio's research centers on the application of the R v Gladue decision through an Indigenous law lens, emphasizing Cree, Anishinaabe, and Metis laws. Her work advocates for Indigenous-led community solutions, especially focused on urban Indigenous youth. As a Knowledge User in a CIHR-funded project, she explores the connections between Metis women's wellness and social structures. Corrigal Flaminio is proud to be a member of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and actively contributes to various scholarly discussions regarding Indigenous justice and methodologies.
