Biography

Anna Gawlewicz is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Glasgow. Her research is broadly concerned with issues of international migration, social diversity, and well-being. She holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Sheffield and a combined BSc and MSc in International Relations and European Studies from the Cracow University of Economics in Poland. Dr. Gawlewicz is co-leading the PostCEE network, which connects researchers working on postcolonial and decolonial perspectives in Central and Eastern Europe. She has worked extensively on various research projects including the Rural Brexit project and the Migrant Essential Workers project and has significant expertise in qualitative methodologies, focusing on migration, mental health, and social interactions. Her research examines migrant-host encounters, the impact of Brexit and Covid-19 on migrant communities, and the complexities of urban migrant experiences in the UK.
