Biography

Anna Gwiazda is a Professor in the Department of Political Economy at King's College London, where she has been since 2010. She previously worked at Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin. Additionally, she has been a Visiting Scholar at the European University Institute in Florence, Sussex European Institute, Australian National University, and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. Anna obtained her PhD from Trinity College Dublin, an M.A. in Political Science from Central European University in Budapest, and a BA in Economics from the Technical University in Radom, Poland. Her research focuses on women's political representation, gender equality, quality democracy, democratization, European politics, and Polish politics. Anna is currently a co-investigator on the ERC Synergy Grant project QUALREP, which addresses issues of quality in women's political representation. Her past work has delved into the Europeanization of public policies, and she has published extensively, including a book titled 'Democracy in Poland' with Routledge. Her teaching includes courses in Gender Politics and Public Policy, and she has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes on relevant political issues.
