Dr. Anna Kiningham

Biography

Atlanta native, Anna Kiningham is a registered architect with more than 7 years of professional experience. Her work is guided by the ambition to respond to evolving means of communication, business, and habitation, creating spaces where people gather, reflect, and flourish. As a student, Anna served as President of Georgia Tech’s Equity Architecture board, and her professional practice has grown to be devoted to multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural collaboration, promoting empathetic and equitable design strategies. Anna’s teaching and design explorations prioritize equity in the built environment, striving to afford people agency in the appropriate use of space. Her design approach is fueled by a passion for local place-making and community building, guided by the cultural context and historical significance of projects. As a practicing architect and interior designer, she has experience in multiscalar projects, graphics, furniture design, single-family homes, hospitality, education, and adaptive reuse redevelopments. Her professional interests extend beyond design work to include business architecture and a passion for mentorship. In her leisure time, Anna enjoys trekking new cities with her camera, cruising on her bicycle through the southeast, and exploring the North Georgia mountains.
