Biography

Anna Kosovicheva received her BA and PhD in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley. After completing her PhD, Kosovicheva spent years in a postdoctoral position at Northeastern University, researching questions related to visual localization and eye movements in individuals with binocular vision impairments. In 2021, she joined the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where she serves as the director of the Applied Perception Psychophysics Laboratory (APPLY). Her research focuses on applying vision research to real-world problems and addresses key questions in spatial vision, binocular vision, and eye movements. Kosovicheva is particularly interested in how the visual system determines perceived position under conditions of uncertainty, as well as studying deficits in binocular vision, specifically in conditions like amblyopia and strabismus. Her lab investigates questions related to perception in everyday tasks such as driving and reading.
