Biography

Anna Lee is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia and a Pediatric Pathologist at BC Children's Hospital. She graduated with a BSc in Microbiology and Immunology from UBC in 1999 and obtained her MDCM and PhD degrees from McGill University in 2007. Lee completed her residency in Anatomical Pathology at UBC in 2012 and further specialized with a fellowship in Pediatric Perinatal Pathology at the Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia. Her main academic interest lies in perinatal pathology, specifically focusing on fetal and placental conditions and the molecular mechanisms behind lung hypoplasia and congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Additionally, she collaborates on projects investigating endometriosis with colleagues at UBC. Lee is passionate about teaching, regularly engaging with medical students and residents in pathology, and has contributed to the development of curricula for both undergraduate and graduate programs. She has also been involved with the Pediatric Perinatal Pathology Area Focused Competence Fellowship program, which is accredited by the Royal College, striving to educate and support the next generation of pathologists.
