Professor Dr. Anna Lindholm

Biography

Anna Lindholm is a Titular Professor in the Department of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. With a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of Cambridge, her research spans behavioral ecology, evolutionary genetics, cooperation, and social dynamics in animal populations. She led an independent research group at UZH and received multiple fellowships, including from the Australia Research Council and the Natural Sciences Engineering Research Council of Canada. Her critical work examines meiotic drive mechanisms in house mice and their implications on social behavior and reproductive strategies in natural settings. Lindholm's significant contributions to evolutionary biology have been widely published, with research interests focusing on the role of genetic elements in shaping reproductive outcomes, social selection processes, and the genetic underpinnings of behavior. She actively engages in teaching and mentoring the next generation of biologists while promoting collaborative research across disciplines.
