Born in London, Anna studied German at Exeter College, Oxford, graduating in 1997. Her monograph, "Poetry of Parental Bereavement in Early Modern Lutheran Germany," examines poetry crafted to console bereaved parents during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, engaging with debates on the sociology of death and Lutheran teachings concerning mourning. Additionally, Anna has published works on German poets from Stuart Britain and is working on a project related to these authors. Anna's teaching encompasses German language and literature, including various modules on topics such as modern German literature and the Lutheran Reformation.
