Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Anna Martinelli. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Anna Martinelli works at Chalmers University as a Full Professor in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. She holds a Master of Science degree in Physics, which she began studying in Italy before continuing in Sweden. Anna pursued her PhD program within the materials science group focused on condensed matter physics at Chalmers, under the supervision of Prof. Aleksandar Matic, where she investigated ion conducting polymer-based materials. Following her doctorate, Anna spent time as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Rome La Sapienza in the group of Prof. Bruno Scrosati, investigating lithium salt and ionic liquid mixtures, particularly for applications in lithium-ion batteries. She also spent a period at the Institute Nationale Polytechnique de Grenoble (INP-G), where she designed, produced, and operated fuel cell devices, using micro-Raman spectroscopic measurements. Currently, at Chalmers, Anna leads a research group that focuses on the physico-chemical properties of pure ionic liquids and their mixtures, as well as ionic liquids in nanoscaled domains. She holds research grants from the Hasselbald Foundation, Chalmers Areas of Advance (Materials Science & Energy), Formas, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research, the Knut & Alice Wallenberg Foundation, and the Swedish Research Council.
General requirements apply to all departments listed at Chalmers. Specific departments like Architecture require a portfolio. Programs in Management/Economics do not strictly require GMAT/GRE but high academic standing is prioritized.
