Dr. Anna Michalski

Biography

Anna Michalski is a Professor in the Department of Government at Uppsala University and a visiting professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. She is also an associated senior researcher at the Swedish Institute for International Affairs. Her teaching and research interests cover international relations and European politics, particularly focusing on EU foreign policy and EU-China relations. Michalski chairs the Swedish Network for European Studies in Political Science. Her current research projects involve the making of EU foreign policy, Europeanization of national foreign policy, and EU-China relations. Previously, she worked on EU policy coordination in economic and social policy and the emergence of new governance frameworks in the wake of the financial and economic crisis. Her past academic roles include positions as a Visiting Associate Professor at Hong Kong University, a Visiting Professor at the School of International Relations and Public Administration at Fudan University in Shanghai, and an Official in the Forward Studies Unit at the European Commission in Brussels. Anna has engaged in various academic networks and boards, including the Swedish Society for International Affairs and the Swedish Network for Foreign Policy Analysis.
