Biography

Professor Mikusheva's research focuses on developing new econometric procedures that work effectively in situations where standard asymptotic approaches fail. She has a particular interest in settings and applications concerning weak identification, which is a critical topic in econometrics due to the challenges it poses in inference. Her work has extensively addressed the inference of persistent (unit root) data, contributing significantly to the understanding of this complex area. Professor Mikusheva has been a faculty member at the Department of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) since 2007. She holds a PhD in Economics from Harvard University and also possesses a PhD in Probability from Moscow State University. In recognition of her outstanding research contributions, she received the 2012 Elaine Bennett Research Prize, awarded by the American Economic Association to honor exceptional women in the field of economics at the beginning of their careers. Additionally, she was selected as a Sloan Research Fellow in 2013, further underscoring her influence and dedication in her field.
