Biography

Anna Pegoretti works on Italian medieval literature, with a specialization in Dante studies. She has authored multiple works, including 'Dal “lito diserto” al giardino. La ‘Commedia’ Egerton 943 della British Library', which focuses on the earliest illuminated manuscript of Dante's poem. Pegoretti has taught at Roma Tre University and has served as a Visiting Professor at the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. She is currently an Associate Fellow at Notre Dame Rome and is a co-editor of the international journal L’Alighieri. Her teaching interests encompass medieval Italian literature and culture, with supervision available for topics related to Dante, Petrarch, Boccaccio, and Franciscan literature. Her research interests also include manuscript culture, literary geography, and the interplay of words and images during the late Medieval period. She is a co-investigator on a significant research project titled 'Books and Readers in Florence from the 13th to the 15th Century: The Library of Santa Croce'.
