Dr. Anna Picco

Biography

Anna Picco-Schwendener is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Università della Svizzera italiana, involved in various projects in the field of communication sciences. She holds a PhD in Communication Sciences, with a thesis focused on the social dimensions of public large-scale Wi-Fi networks, particularly examining municipal community wireless networks. Currently, she leads the project CCdigitallaw, which aims to build a competence center for digital law within Swiss Higher Education Institutions. Her research interests encompass e-Government, online communication, and the analysis of usage practices and motivations related to eLearning and digital law. Furthermore, Anna has collaborated on significant projects such as DMLawTool, DICE, and OIKONET, and she has served as a teaching assistant for the course Digital Fashion Communication: Introduction. Her academic background includes a degree in Communication Sciences, specializing in Communication Technologies, and prior experience in the communication sector with a prominent steel trading company, where she was responsible for the company’s Intranet.
