Professor Dr. Anna Szostak Chrzanowski

Biography

Anna Szostak-Chrzanowski is a Titular Professor in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick (UNB). With 30 years of experience, she has significantly contributed to the field through her research and leadership roles. Anna holds a Doctor Habilitatus degree from the University of Varmia and Mazuria, Poland, and a Ph.D. in Rock Mechanics from the Technical University of Mining and Metallurgy in Poland. She has served as a full professor at Wroclaw University of Technology in Poland and was the Chair of the Department of Geodesy and Cartography there. Her involvement in various projects includes deformation analysis for engineering geosciences, with applications in significant structures such as the Shibuya dam in China and Diamond Valley Lake in California. Anna is a member of the EC-Geo-Sustain European MSc in Geomatics Sustainable Mineral Resource Management and contributes to PhD evaluations. Her research interests focus on integrated analysis of structural ground deformations, effects of mining activities, and modeling various geotechnical parameters. She has authored seven books and over 300 scientific publications and reports.
