Biography

Anna Taddio's research program focuses on improving pain management in medical procedures, particularly for children, to optimize health outcomes. Her specific objectives include advancing pain management therapeutics by evaluating the effects of individual and combination drug and non-drug pain-relieving modalities, documenting the effects of consistent pain management on developmental trajectories of pain responses, and the health care behaviors that accompany them. Taddio also develops and evaluates educational interventions to promote effective pain mitigation across diverse clinical settings and populations. She is currently leading a national interdisciplinary team studying the promotion of evidence-based pain mitigation in vaccinations. With over 160 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters to her credit, Taddio has received numerous awards, including the New Investigator Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (2003) and the Pfizer Research Career Award from the Association of Faculties of Pharmacy Canada (2014).
