Anna Tristram completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge in 2011 and subsequently became a Lecturer in French Studies at Queen’s University Belfast in 2013, being promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2020. Her project involves real-time analysis of linguistic variation change (LVC), comparing historical data with new data collected from a stratified sample of the local population. This timely research aims to advance the understanding of how shifts in population demographics influence local identity and community cohesion in Corby. In addition to her project, Anna has published work on language attitudes and ideologies, particularly in relation to prescriptivism and standard language ideology.
