Dr. Anne Marie Boylan

Biography

Anne-Marie Boylan is a Departmental Lecturer and Senior Researcher at the University of Oxford's Medical Sciences Division. She is the Director of the Postgraduate Certificate in Qualitative Health Research Methods and Co-Director of the DPhil in Evidence Based Health Care. Her research interests primarily focus on women's health, particularly the experiences of patients and their interactions with health services. Boylan has explored Patient Public Involvement and conducted studies analyzing online patient feedback. She serves as a co-Principal Investigator on a study aimed at improving communication for South Asian women regarding menopause, which is funded by the NIHR School of Primary Care Research. Additionally, Boylan is involved in research concerning the evidence behind commercial products that claim to alleviate menopausal symptoms. As a passionate educator, she supervises MSc and DPhil students, and is quite active in teaching modules related to Qualitative Research Methods. She obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from the University of Oxford in 2016 and takes pride in mentoring staff interested in teaching qualitative methods.
