Dr. Anne Marie Glenny

Biography

Anne-Marie Glenny is a Professor in the Health Sciences Research Division at the University of Manchester, specializing in dentistry. She has extensive experience in evidence-based practice, especially in conducting systematic reviews using various methodologies. Her work has significantly influenced public health policy, particularly through reviews funded by the CDC (US), which developed evidence-based guidelines for oral care in children with cancer. She has also led Health Technology Assessment (HTA) projects funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) focused on indirect comparisons of competing interventions. Glenny serves as the Co-lead of the North West Evidence Synthesis Network, a collaborative initiative aimed at enhancing the use of health research evidence among policymakers in Greater Manchester and the northwest of England. As a member of the Cochrane Oral Health group, she contributes to coordinated efforts to improve oral health through systematic reviews. Additionally, she advises on matters related to research design and ethics as a member of the University's Ethics Committee and has engaged in curriculum development to bolster research methods training for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
