Biography

Anne-Marie Tillman is a Professor Emeritus in Environmental Systems Analysis at Chalmers University. She became a professor in the year 2000 and was recognized as professor emerita in 2021. Her research focuses on the development and application of methodology in life cycle assessment (LCA) and related environmental systems analysis tools. She has collaborated extensively with industry on sustainability initiatives and is affiliated with the Swedish Life Cycle Center. In addition to her research contributions, Tillman has developed various courses and teaching materials on LCA for master's and doctoral levels. Together with Professor Henrikke Baumann, she authored the well-received textbook 'The Hitch Hiker’s Guide to LCA.' Throughout her career, Tillman has significantly influenced the development of systems-based environmental research. She served as the head of the Division of Environmental Systems Analysis from 2005 to 2013 and is a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA).
