Dr. Anne Albert

Biography

Anne Albert is the Klatt Family Director of Public Programs at the Katz Center, where she manages a range of public initiatives and publications, including her role as managing editor of the Jewish Quarterly Review. Her research focuses on early modern Jewish cultural history and political thought, particularly examining the experiences of Spanish and Portuguese Jews in Amsterdam during the seventeenth century. Anne has previously served as a fellow during the years 2010–11 and 2013–14, contributing to her expertise in conversion and early modernity. She completed her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania and has taught at several prestigious institutions, including Brown University, Swarthmore College, and Bryn Mawr College, before her current position at the Katz Center. Anne’s work reflects her deep engagement with Jewish studies and her commitment to fostering public understanding of historical narratives.
