Anne Hyland is a Senior Lecturer in Music Analysis at the University of Manchester. She holds degrees from University College Dublin (BA hons, BMus, MMus) and a PhD from the University of Cambridge, earned in 2012 under the supervision of Professor Nicholas Marston. Recently, she published her monograph, 'Schubert's String Quartets: Teleology Lyric Form' with Cambridge University Press in April 2023. Anne has held various editorial positions, contributing to journals and serving on editorial boards, while also being actively involved in music analysis societies in Ireland and the UK. Her teaching includes courses on Schenkerian Analysis, Romantic Form, and New Musicology. Anne is dedicated to mentoring students and enhancing the academic field of music analysis.
