Dr. Anne Krarup

Biography

Anne Lund Krarup is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center at Aalborg University and Aalborg University Hospital. Her research primarily focuses on Emergency Medicine and Eosinophilic Oesophagitis (EoE). She has made significant contributions to enhancing treatment methodologies for EoE through her groundbreaking work that has established the Danish regional EoE guidelines and the national guidelines for patients. Under her direction, the department has fostered a research culture that prioritizes patient-centered clinical challenges, ensuring research findings are translated into practice for the benefit of patients. Krarup has created initiatives such as the Acute Basic Palliation Concept, aimed at improving end-of-life care and has established the EoE Clinic at the hospital for managing challenging cases. Her extensive research has resulted in a paradigm shift in the clinical approach to EoE diagnosis and treatment in Denmark, leading to increased detection rates and the publication of numerous influential papers on the subject.
