Biography

Anne obtained a Master’s degree in Human Movement Sciences (with distinction) from the Free University Amsterdam in 2001. She later completed her Master of Science degree in Epidemiology at the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences, Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam in August 2006. From June 2001 to December 2002, she worked as a (Sport-)Nutrition Scientist at Numico Research BV in Wageningen. Since 2003, Anne has been involved in research on lifestyle, body composition, and diet in relation to cancer. Between 2003-2007, she conducted her PhD research on the effects of physical exercise and cognitive-behavioral therapy for cancer patients at University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU), specifically at the Julius Center. After completing her PhD, she continued to work at the Julius Center, where she currently serves as Director of Research and works as a Professor of Clinical Epidemiology in Cancer Survivorship. She also serves as a group leader for 'Lifestyle survivorship care' at the Netherlands Cancer Institute.
