Dr. Anne Mongiu

Biography

Dr. Anne Mongiu is an Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Colorectal Surgery. She completed her MD and PhD at Northwestern University and underwent residency training in General Surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Following her residency, Dr. Mongiu pursued a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of Louisville, where she focused on minimally invasive robotic techniques for treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. Her clinical interests include a broad range of colorectal health issues, from benign anal and pelvic disorders to malignant conditions. Dr. Mongiu's research spans various topics, including healthcare disparities and patient advocacy, with a commitment to improving patient quality of life. As Co-Director of the CRC Program and Co-Chair of the Lower GI Tumor Board, she is actively involved in enhancing treatment protocols and advocating for patient-centered care. Her dedication to the field and to her patients is further illustrated by her involvement in teaching and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
