Biography

Anne Skaja Robinson is the Trustee Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, having served as department head from 2018 to 2023. She was previously the Catherine Henry Boh Professor and Engineering Chair in Chemical Biomolecular Engineering at Tulane University from 2012 to 2018. With 85 publications, her research focuses on protein (re)folding, aggregation, protein biophysics, and therapeutically relevant protein molecules, having graduated 23 Ph.D. students throughout her career. Prior to joining Tulane, Robinson was a full professor and associate chair at the University of Delaware, marking the start of her academic career in 1997. Her honors include the DuPont Young Professor Award and the National Science Foundation Presidential Early Career Award for Science and Engineering (PECASE), along with being a fellow of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Robinson has been actively involved in AIChE since 1989 and served on its Board of Directors from 2015 to 2017. Her advisory roles have included the FDA's Advisory Committee on Pharmaceutical Sciences, and she has chaired various engineering meetings.
