Biography

Anne ter Wal is a Professor of Technology Innovation Management at the Imperial College Business School. Her research focuses on the role of networks in innovation and entrepreneurship, exploring how individuals access knowledge and ideas within organizations while facing various challenges. She leads the EU-funded research project titled "Networking Innovation," which investigates how networking enables entrepreneurs to build valuable connections that contribute to business innovation success. Her interests also include creativity management, particularly the effects of bootlegging and deviant forms of creativity on innovation outcomes. Prior to her position at Imperial College, Anne completed her doctorate in Economic Geography at Utrecht University. She has published articles in well-regarded journals including Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Organization Science, and Research Policy, and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Journal. Additionally, she is part of the editorial review board for Administrative Science Quarterly and Research Policy.
