Dr. Anne Waade

Biography

Anne Marit Risum Waade is an Associate Professor at Aarhus University, specializing in Media Studies within the School of Communication and Culture. Her research largely focuses on television production and cultural narratives, specifically analyzing the transcultural aspects of identity within European crime narratives. Waade has participated in several significant projects, including the Horizon 2020 DETECt project, which aimed to examine the factors influencing the popularity of crime narratives across cultures. She has also contributed to various activities, including organizing conferences and workshops on topics such as transnational television drama and Nordic Noir. Her extensive teaching experience includes courses on television studies and video-essay production. Over the years, Waade has been involved in a variety of academic endeavors, contributing lectures and conducting research on the cultural implications of media. She is recognized for her deep engagement with the field, actively collaborating with peers on projects that investigate the dynamics of media consumption and production.
