Annemarie Pickersgill is a Leverhulme Early Career Research Fellow at the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre. Her research focuses on the aspects of impact cratering, including the creation of habitable environments and age determination through 40Ar/39Ar geochronology. Currently, she is investigating micro-tunnels in impact-generated glasses to determine biotic origins and how biota colonized sites as a result of impact-induced hydrothermal systems. Her sample studies come from significant impact structures such as Ries, Boltysh, Dellen, and Rochechouart. Additionally, she works on geochronology of terrestrial impact structures, including Chicxulub, Boltysh, and Gow Lake, while studying the effects of shock metamorphism on feldspar group minerals at the Chicxulub site.
