Dr. Annette Fierro

Biography

Annette Fierro is an Associate Professor at the Stuart Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on the intersection of technology, contemporary international architecture, and urban culture, particularly examining the impacts of natural systems on urban architecture and policy since the movements of the 1960s and 70s. Her recent works, including the book 'Architectures Technopolis: Archigram British High Tech,' explore radical technological speculation in relation to urban practices. She has contributed to interdisciplinary discussions on urban morphology and environmental justice within architectural education. Fierro supervises a Master's Thesis program and has led core design curriculum initiatives. She also has extensive lecturing experience at various prestigious institutions and conducts seminars on the influences of experimental theatre on architectural narratives. Registered as an architect in New York, her early design work has been featured in influential architectural journals. Additionally, she has held various administrative roles within the department, further enriching her academic contributions.
