Biography

Annette Jael Lehmann is a Professor of Contemporary Art and Visual Culture Theater at the Free University of Berlin. She holds a background in Comparative Literature, American Studies, Philosophy, and Art History, having studied in Berlin, Oxford, and Berkeley. Her academic experience includes positions as a Visiting Assistant Professor at UCLA and Adjunct Faculty Member at the California Institute of the Arts. She has published extensively on topics such as new media art and the aesthetics surrounding performance. Additionally, she is noted for her contributions to the field through various administrative roles and fellowships, including the Fellowship at the Literary Research Center Huntington Library, and has been recognized for her scholarly contributions with awards and honors throughout her career.
