Dr. Annette Vincent

Biography

Annette Vincent is a Teaching Professor and Associate Dean at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, specializing in Biological Sciences. She received her Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore in Biochemistry and has performed extensive research focused on areas such as Phage Genomics and Stem Cell Engineering. Her teaching methods include problem-based learning facilitation, aiming to enhance the learning experience for students in higher education. Professor Vincent has actively engaged in various outreach programs, one being the Biotechnology Explorer Program, which provides secondary school students with hands-on laboratory experience. She has taken on multiple roles including Program Director for Biological Sciences at CMU-Q, Academic Advisor, and Outreach Coordinator. Her research interests are well-documented in reputable journals, with significant contributions to the understanding of nephrotoxicity and mitochondrial functions. Annette has been involved in multiple notable publications, highlighting issues related to oxidative stress and its effects on kidney cells, as well as exploring the mechanisms of drug-related cellular damage.
